Now you — and your little ones — can discover the Big Apple without leaving your house thanks to interactive travel book and DVD, Look Out World: Here I Come! (New York) ($22).

Tour guides Otto (little boy), Blink (teddy bear) and Casey (suitcase) take you to visit all the major landmarks including Central Park, the Bronx Zoo, the Statue of Liberty and the Museum of Natural History.

You’ll also get to experience the city’s every day sights (busy sidewalks and streets) and sounds (honking cabs, moving subway cars) through bright and playful animation. There’s even a cute theme song!

We loved the 36 page activity book, which includes everything from a pizza recipe to instructions on how to build a mini Empire State Building. It’s a great teaching tool too. While your child is busy exploring, he’ll learn how to recognize shapes and colors and how to count.
